TWO BATTLES- DIFFERENCE OF 107 YEARS- ONE LESSON
1. Battle of Uhud ( 23 March 625)- Muslims fighting against Kuffar-e-Makkah and were winning the fight and were looking for a great victory. They saw the booty of war and suddenly the love of this dunya sparked in them. They went+
to collect the boty of war, enemy re-attacked from behind. Victory turned into massive defeat. 70 of the Muslims were martyred.
2. Battle of Tours(Ma'arakat Balāṭ ash-Shuhadā’) 10 October 732- Muslims were marching inside the western Europe, they were at the Tours
(127 miles from Paris) and were with marching with great victory. Met the Franks at Tours and lost the battle despite being more in numbers. Reason-They were heavily loaded with booty and spills of war. Around 12,000 were martyred along with great leader, Abdul Rahman Al Ghafiqi.
Muslims never marched again inside western Europe. After that catastrophe, Muslims only retreated for 800 years. That was a great setback for the Ummah of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
Lesson- The moment our love for Dunya will exceed our love for aakhirah, Allah will grab our faces and will rub them to dust. Neither numbers nor arms are required to win, the only thing which guarantees a victory is Imaan and our love for Aakhirah.
‘If Allah should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allah let the believers rely’ [Quran, 3:160]
