All Sikh historians have called out Audrey for whitewashing Aurangzeb’s atrocities. Not only has she gone on to call Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Political but has also claimed that Aurangzeb was not even present in Delhi during Guru’s execution.
Most of Audrey’s work & those of Muslim historians on Arangzeb is based on or majorly plagiarised from Munshi Ghulam Hussain’s Siyyarul-Mutakharin. It even goes on to call Guru Sahib as robber thief.
Edwards and Gerret, Mughal Rule in India tells us the blackout of history
There are 3-4 major Persian records related to this period, and all of them NEVER recorded any tyranny of that period. For example, even the prosecution of Sufi saints is not recorded.
Since there was blackout of history, someone with pseudonym Kafi Khan wrote Muntak-habul-lubàb, which again makes no mesntion of atrocities of the emperor and not even the execution of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. This explains the sources of people like @AudreyTruschke
The non Persian sources that people like Audrey and Haroon shoe blind eye clearly record that Aurangzeb was an example of tyranny, for example- Dr-Fryer can be considered neutral on his takes & he makes a mention in his letters about Taxes on Hindus and their conversions.
Contrary to the Muslim sources like Muntikhab-ulubàb, Mà asari -Àlamgiri, Siyyarul- Mutakharin & those of Ibni-Khaldun to Ibrat-Nameh, ALL Sikh sources record the atrocities of Emperor & his governors.
Be it the governor Iftikaar in Kashmir weighing Pandit janueus to be sent to Delhi or the execution of Guru Sahib, everything is recorded by Sikh scholars. The imposition of 20 restrictions on Hindus are clearly written in works of Brahm Singh & Santokh singh.
In addition to the Gurpratap Suraj Prakash, all Sikh scholars have more or less similar recordings of the Mughal emperor. Audrey has been confronted by Sikhs time & again but she has failed to put a counter argument in her defence.
